Earned autonomy and shadow mode
How Atom earns the right to reply by itself, one kind of reply at a time.
Atom does not reply on its own from day one. It earns that separately for each kind of reply: interested, question, objection, not now and wrong person.
The three ways a reply goes out
- Waiting for you: Atom drafts the reply and waits. Nothing is sent until someone presses Send now.
- Shadow mode: Atom drafts the reply and shows a countdown, for example "Atom sends this in 40 minutes unless you step in". You can send it now, edit it, or press Don't send.
- Autonomous: Atom sends straight away.
How autonomy is earned
After 30 replies of one kind go out without you changing them, that kind becomes autonomous. You can follow progress on the Home page.
How it is lost
A kind of reply goes back to shadow mode, and its count starts again, if:
- someone edits one of Atom's replies before it is sent,
- someone presses Don't send, or
- a complaint arrives after one of Atom's replies.
Replies that always come to a person, such as price questions, never become autonomous.
