Connecting your accounts
Your own Claude and Apollo accounts, your CRM and your mailboxes, and how Atom keeps your keys safe.
Atom works through your company's own accounts, so you control them and pay those services directly. Open Connections in the menu. Only owners can connect or disconnect.
Claude (required)
Atom uses Claude, by Anthropic, to draft your playbook, write your emails and read replies. Create an API key in the Anthropic console (console.anthropic.com, API keys), then paste it into Connections and select Check and save.
Without it, Atom writes nothing: replies go to you in Needs you, and sequences cannot start.
Apollo (to find new prospects)
Apollo finds the right people at companies that fit your targeting, using your own Apollo credits. Create an API key in Apollo (Settings, Integrations, API keys) and add it the same way.
Companies House (free)
Atom checks each company on the UK register before contacting anyone there: who owns it, its size, and whether it is still trading. Create a free key at developer.company-information.service.gov.uk (Your applications, create an application, then a REST API key) and add it the same way. Without your own key, Atom uses Damteq's if one is set up; with neither, more companies come to you for a look.
Your CRM and mailboxes
Pipedrive, Microsoft 365 and Google connect by signing in with them, so Atom never sees your password. See Connecting Pipedrive and Setting up sending mailboxes.
HubSpot instead of Pipedrive
Atom works with one CRM at a time. To use HubSpot:
- In HubSpot, open Settings, Integrations, Private apps and create an app called Atom.
- Give it these scopes:
crm.objects.contacts.read,crm.objects.contacts.write,crm.objects.companies.read,crm.objects.companies.write,crm.objects.deals.readandcrm.objects.owners.read. - Copy its access token (it starts
pat-) and paste it under CRM: HubSpot in Connections.
Atom then reads, every night:
- your customers (contacts and companies with the lifecycle stage Customer),
- everyone on an open deal, and their company,
- contacts who have opted out of all email,
and never cold emails any of them. It logs its emails and meetings on the contact's timeline, marks new prospects as leads with a note, and, with the Win-back add-on, reads lost deals. It never changes or deletes your deals.
How your keys are kept safe
- Atom checks a key works, with a call that costs nothing, before storing it.
- Keys are encrypted with a key unique to your company, and only used for your company's work.
- A key is never shown again after you save it, never written to logs, and never shared with Damteq staff. Only its last four characters are shown, so you can tell which one is in use.
- Disconnect deletes it at once. If a service stops accepting your key, Atom tells you in Needs you.
Team alerts in Slack or Microsoft Teams
Atom can post new items in Needs you, booked meetings and a morning summary to a channel your team already watches. The alerts carry reasons, counts and times, never prospects' messages.
- Slack: create a Slack app for your workspace, turn on Incoming Webhooks, add one for the channel and copy its address (it starts
https://hooks.slack.com/). - Microsoft Teams: in the channel, open Workflows and choose Post to a channel when a webhook request is received, then copy the address it gives you.
Paste the address under Team alerts in Connections. Atom posts a test alert to check it, then keeps the address encrypted. If the channel later refuses alerts (for example, the webhook was deleted), Connections shows it as stopped working.
